Ravipadu Parish – Diocese of Guntur

Dear Parishioners,

With joy and heartfelt gratitude, we warmly welcome Rev. Fr. Uppuluri Joseph Thambi, newly ordained priest of the Missionary Society of Infant Jesus (MSIJ), who has been appointed as the Associate Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Ravipadu.

Fr. Joseph was born on January 3, 1995, and comes from Edavalli (East), Eluru District, Andhra Pradesh. He began his formation with the MSIJ on June 1, 2011, pursued philosophy at Vijnana Nilayam, Janampet, and completed his theological studies at St. Joseph's Inter-Diocesan Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore. He served his regency at MSIJ Formation House, Kavoor, was ordained a deacon on October 2, 2024, and exercised his diaconate ministry at Divine Mercy Church, Gangada Parish in the Diocese of Srikakulam.

On April 26, 2025, Fr. Joseph was ordained a priest at St. Lawrence Shrine, Bondel, Mangalore, and we are blessed that Ravipadu is his first pastoral appointment.

He joins us in one of the largest and most vibrant parishes in the Diocese of Guntur, known for its deep Marian devotion and rich liturgical and pastoral life. Fr. Joseph will be assisting our pastor, Rev. Fr. Bala Yeruva, with humility and obedience, in the administration of parish life and sacramental ministry.

We are confident that his time here, working alongside two active religious congregations of sisters and in the midst of a dynamic and faith-filled community, will enrich his priestly vocation and provide him with valuable pastoral experience.

Let us welcome Fr. Joseph with open hearts, support him in prayer, and accompany him with Christian love as he begins his sacred ministry among us.
